Hi everyone,

I really wanted to share some of the great progress we are making out on the course. We have now cleared ALL the greens of silt, including all 18 playing greens, plus the 3 practice greens. This is a monumental effort considering that only 4 of the greens were not affected by silt and that the greens needed to be cleared of silt by hand. A huge effort  from the greens staff and our hardy volunteers.

We are starting to see some great growth out on course despite the silt which is extremely encouraging. The team is looking to core the greens to keep them as healthy as possible moving forward.

If you come out to the course you will see some very large machinery out on our fairways. They are on site to remove the heavy silt from our fairways anf tees. Contractors have worked to modify the digger bucket to ensure that it does not dig up grass, but instead only remove the silt from the surface. We will have multiple diggers on site next week to get this done as soon as we can.

We still have water pooling on course in some areas which have always struggled with drainage, with the fine weather these should recede quickly.

If you would like to volunteer, a reminder to please report to the clubhouse at 9.30am for a quick overview of the daily tasks. Most of the tasks are generally heavy, but there will be some medium level tasks we can get you to assist with. Please remember to wear gloves, gumboots and to wear a mask when working with the dry silt. Please note that we are not expecting you to be here all day, 3 to 4 hours maximum is asked of you. If you are able to set aside some time to help, it is greatly apprecaited and goes a long way to getting our course up and running again.

We are hopeful that work will begin soon on the clubhouse and course buildings. We have engaged with contractors who have been on site assessing the work required.

Here are some photos of encouragement....
