SNAG (Starting New at Golf):
- can be played anywhere (indoors or outdoors);
- is completely portable;
- is much safer than real golf equipment;
- has all the elements of golf in a modified form;
- was designed to make the game of golf easy to learn and play;
- teaches children without them really knowing it;
- doesn’t require a golfer to teach (parents, teachers can all be co-opted to assist).
After a presentation from its golf professional Andrew Henare the Club purchased SNAG golf equipment. This equipment is used at local schools (with support from Sport Hawkes Bay) and at the Club’s “introduction to golfing programme”.
The Club has seen a substantial increase in the number of junior golfers joining the Club.
