The support of the regional golf community has been overwhelming. Not only have the local clubs and local golfers offered their time and machinery to help us with our recovery, they have also answered the call and have found ways to get our members back playing golf again. We truly appreciate the support!
Below is a summary of support we have received from regional clubs in the form of reciprocal playing rights and discounted green fees.
HASTINGS GC - Book in using DotGolf bookings available 1 week prior to the date required. There will be no Green Fee charges but as a courtesy gesture we encourage our members to use the course facilities.
HAWKES BAY GC - A board meeting is scheduled for the 6th. of March and we will be advised of their decision after they have met.
WAIROA - They have haggles on Thursday and Saturday with small fields and their Club Day is Sunday. We are assured that space will be made for us. The problem will be the viability of travelling to get there. We are advised that a sober driver would be an advantage as they will look after us post golf!!.
Sadly their generous offer is unable to be taken up due to lack of access.
ONGA ONGA - $15 green fee. Players are asked to have their Napier membership tag or ID with them to show if challenged. We are able to play the course any day of the week including the club day on Sundays when a competition is held with a $5 entry fee. If a large group wishes to play on a weekday or a Saturday please inform Steffan by emailing him a couple of days prior to the date on [email protected] and they will attempt to have greens mowed and the bar open.
DANNEVIRKE - Their course is available to our members on any day of the week, even large groups. There are no Tee times required but please contact Mike Mathews know by phoning 021402043. There are no Green Fees required.
TAKAPAU - $10 green fee access any day except for March 4th. and March 14th.
WAIPUKURAU - No green fees until the end of March. They have a 12 hole up and running and will advise us of changes to that. There are competition days on Wednesday for Ladies and Thursday for men, on Saturdays they have a competition for both Men and Ladies. There are no bookings required and Napier GC members are welcome to join the competition days.
If you wish to take advantage of these offers please remember that you are representing our club and to please show the hosts courtesy at all times. We also would like to encourage all golfers to take advantage of the hospitality that is offered by the host club even if it is just a brief sit down and a talk with the club members.
