Step back into the Art Deco era for a day of golf, good company and a little friendly competition at Napier Golf Club.
The Plus Fours Golf Competition opens The Great Gats-Tee Golf Festival, with players encouraged to embrace the era and take to the course in their finest Art Deco golfing attire.
Enjoy a glass of bubbles and fruitcake on arrival before heading out for the competition. After play, everyone will come together in the clubhouse for shared food platters, prizegiving and a chance to celebrate the day.
With prizes for best dressed and plenty of Art Deco atmosphere throughout the course, this is as much about the occasion as the golf.
Corporate teams are welcome, with sponsorship opportunities also available.
What’s included
A glass of bubbles and fruitcake on arrival, the Plus Fours golf competition, shared food platters in the clubhouse after play, prizegiving and best-dressed recognition.
What to wear
Art Deco golf attire is encouraged. Think plus fours, flat caps, argyle, knits and 1920s-inspired golfing style. There’ll be recognition for the best dressed, so this is one occasion where dressing the part is very much encouraged.
Good to know
The competition is designed to suit a broad range of golfers. Corporate team entries are welcome, with sponsorship opportunities also available.

Dress for the era and join us for an evening of Art Deco glamour at Napier Golf Club.
On Saturday night, the clubhouse will transform for an evening of dining, live entertainment and dancing inspired by the style and spirit of the 1920s and 30s.
Expect Art Deco décor, jazz and swing, fabulous fashion and an atmosphere made for getting dressed up and making a night of it.
What’s included
An Art Deco-inspired dining experience, live jazz or swing entertainment, dancing, themed décor and fashion recognition.
What to wear
This is your chance to dress for the era. Think 1920s and 30s evening glamour – cocktail dresses, sequins, headpieces, suits, bow ties and all things Art Deco.
Good to know
You don’t need to be a golfer or a member of Napier Golf Club to attend – this is a standalone event open to anyone wanting to enjoy a night of food, music and Art Deco festivities.

FAMILY PICNIC ON THE FAIRWAY & 9-HOLE GOLF

Finish The Great Gats-Tee weekend with a relaxed Sunday on the fairway for the whole family.
The day begins with an accessible nine-hole golf experience designed to be welcoming for families, casual golfers and those who simply want to give golf a go.
Afterwards, settle in for a village-style picnic on the first fairway, with Art Deco music, lawn seating, blankets and umbrellas creating the setting for an afternoon on the course.
There’ll be lawn games, activities, prizes and plenty of opportunities to dress up and capture some great Art Deco photos. Picnic boxes will also be available to purchase.
Whether you come for the golf, the picnic or both, the focus is on a relaxed day outdoors that everyone can enjoy.
